If you haven't signed up yet for the Pre-Launch Special for The Governess Trilogy, sign up here today! It's getting closer! Hugs, Ellise And I'm so excited! I'm so pleased to see that all this hard work is paying off for my family. Who would have known when I began publishing processes last spring that The Governess would be so successful? I sure didn't. But it's been a huge blessing in my family's lives. I'm so grateful to all of my readers out there for the amazing support you've given me in this exciting new phase of my life. I'm not one who knew, just knew, that I'd grow up to be an author. I never really gave it much thought. It's amazing how life grows us and molds us into better people...at least I hope that's what's happening here. :) It's sure been a ride. And I'm really enjoying the great parts, like this. Thanks everyone! Hugs, Ellise ...has long been Pizza & a Movie Night around here...And we thoroughly enjoy it! We discovered long ago that raising children didn't necessarily allow for date nights, so we brought the date night home for everyone. Tonight, we watched 'The Croods', ate thin crust pizza with half pepperoni, half Canadian bacon with olives, mushrooms, green peppers, and spinach, salad on the side, and popcorn via our local video store--Walkers. It was all very delicious and the movie was cute. I love spending time with my family, even though we missed our oldest who worked tonight. I remember those days...a drag to miss out when everyone is having fun, but we think of her while saving her slices. Here's to family nights!! :) Ellise Two different hardcovers: Dust Jacket and Casewrap.
Click on these links below: Well, I definitely accomplished some writing this weekend. By the time the weekend was over, I was just about at 20k words. What great fun to participate in timed writing 'sprints' (which I am now going to apply to my writing time at home). Everyone would win prizes, not only for winning contests, such as the sprints, but for setting writing goals and completing them. And let me tell you, folks, there were authors at this retreat who blew me away. We're talking 45k words and more over one weekend. What an example to me in setting new writing goals! Since this was my first time, I think I'm going to pat myself on the back anyway, if you don't mind. :) It was WAY fun!
So thanks for the great times, writers, and for helping me to accomplish my goals so that my readers can have the next book in The Huntington Saga Series Novels by the release date next spring! Hugs, Ellise
Here's some more great photos of the retreat:So...here I am at my writer's retreat, actually connected to the internet for however many minutes it will decide to be connected. But honestly, the only reason I've needed internet is to stay in touch with my family, because there is no phone service here. Anyhoo...it's been actually kind of cool to be restricted from the outside world up here in the mountains of Heber City, Utah, writing to my heart's content with 20ish other writers. It's been awesome!! We write and write and write. So far, I've written 7,386 words that I've actually remembered to count. We have contests, sprints, prizes, and yummy food. It's been so amazing to be so focused. I've been able to finish all the new chapters for The Governess that I'm hoping to release this month, November 2013. I can't do the fancy stuff on this computer since it's different than mine, but I'll do that at home when I have a chance. I'll be working on a new cover as well, but most likely reuse one of them, but just add some stuff. Not really sure yet, since I'm still learning to do that myself. I hate bothering people. I learned some stuff about creating covers but it all still leads mainly to paying for someone to do it for you. I'm still poor enough that I'll keep it close to home. *sigh* But...someday... :) I'm now working diligently on Pirate Bride. Guess what!! It's so fun!!! I love writing when I get to do it like this!! I love creating stories and characters and adventures. I'm also thrilled to compare my skills and writing and sales with other authors. Its been a real treat to see how well I actually am doing. It's been great incentive to keep doing what I love. Writing! So hang on to your britches, the stories are coming. I'm hoping that I'll have more time again once I get home. I'll just have to be creative and schedule time wisely. (And probably significantly shorten the length of them.) Here's to more dreams, folks! So dream on. Hugs, Ellise P.S. I sure miss my family though! Love you! I have really enjoyed getting back into Carly and Creighton's story and adding the new chapters about their wedding. It's been great fun! Many of you wanted that more in depth ending, so I hope you are happy with what I am coming up with. :) I look forward to hearing from you about what you think, too. I LOVE being creative! Hugs everyone, Ellise Wow!! Where do I begin? In all our 21 years of marriage, we have never had a new car. We have always been so blessed to receive a car from someone in the family willing to sell to us for a good price we could afford. :) We've been so grateful over the years. But... When our 91 Ford Explorer (which is the newest car we've ever had) died this last month, we decided that replacing the transmission for the fourth time (yes, you heard me correctly) was not an option. We're cheap simply because life has forced us to be. It's one of the things you learn very quickly when not able to work and contribute and because we have major medical bills by the dozens oozing out of envelopes at us, even in our nightly dreams. Uggh! So, imagine the difficulty in making a decision to buy a new car (well, new to us, anyway...) and commit to making a monthly payment when it's your guess as good as ours whether we'll have the money for the payment. Since my books have been selling consistently enough to pay a car payment (which wasn't in the original plan of why I was writing in the first place--more like paying off all the tardy medical bills!!), we decided to be risk takers and rely on the good graces of God and invest in a new car with the goal that the books would pay the car payment. This brings me to the 'Wow!' Wow!!!! Not even in my wildest dreams did I think this would be possible right now...but we're doing it! Thank you, Father in Heaven!!!!!!! Thank you for such wonderful blessings in our life! Dreams really do come true, people! Keep dreaming out there and accomplishing your goals! Hugs, Ellise |
