Ellise. This is very good and kept me hooked throughout the story. Its a great flow to a great premise and your characters are managed so well. I can see this doing very well. Keep going and I loved it. Sean Connolly. Software The Pirate Bride is up to author Eliise C Weaver's usual high standards, and evokes visions of those wonderful swashbuckling Burt Lancaster pirate movies made in the 1950's. It contains all the expected ingredients that make for a fast flowing, rich and deep in content story that has multiple themes and subplots. If I were to sum up Pirate Bride with one word based on the chapters read so far, it would be thrilling. Some might say this is a throwback to a burnt out genre, but they would be wrong. In fact, its a classic story, expertly told and coloured, and thereby overrides any predilections for the current fashion of goblins and werewolves.Highly starred, W'L'ed and will be on mu bookshelf when space is available. Clive Radford Doghouse Blues mistybrooke I just read your pitch and saw your cover for "Pirate Bride" and the only word that comes to mind is "WOW!". I have started reading this – I have added it on my WL to continue to work my way through all the books I have been recommended. Keep up the great work! pippa shields We're really surprised you're not published yet. As always this is a solid, professional piece of work, well written and hugely entertaining, with a compelling mix of plot elements and characters and very visual descriptions of places and actions. Wonderful stuff. Philippa Gray and Alan Shields. ddyjohnson I'm terrible at feedback (comes from too many creative writing feedback sessions) but I'll try my best. First, I would like to say that I am truly enjoying your story and plan to read on when time allows. The descriptions and dialog are so rich and colorful I can see everything as it occurs in my mind's eye. I like how you leave the description of the characters up to those observing them; i.e., Lord Pembrooke gives insight into the Huntington's and Susannah gives us more about their relationship. I haven't quite caught what Lord Pembrooke is so vengeful about but the fact that he is almost relieved of his partner's demise says a lot about how deeply he hates the Huntingtons. GCleare A fitting sequel to The Governess as Carly's adventures continue. Ellise, you are a master at this kind of story, best read in a bubble bath surrounded by white candles. Frothy and delightful! ~Gail SECRETS WE KEEP Shelby Z. Love the new cover. Cman The cover alone gets my attention and I don't read romance. Well done Ellise! pinkyfloyd Love love love the new cover!! difloyd Once again you've done a wonderful job!! It's well executed, captivating, has refreshing characters, exciting, full of adventure, a clean yet evocative romance, entertaining and so much more. Very proud of you and your hard work sis \O/ Emmalena Louisa Ellis Once more a beautiful tapestry of regency life as portrayed by Elsie Weaver. The words are rich and the emotions and imagery portrays as ever very real people that the reader can instantly warm to. Elsie never fails to create a gripping story that should appeal to true romantics and historical lovers alike. I was most delighted to see both the freshness of her writing retain the charm of the Governess and at the same time bring us a new story which hooks from page to page. Many thanks again Elsie for bringing me back to your magical little world. Emmalena Louisa Ellis. Ginsterpigs scargirl really great adventure here. keep writing and working on this. it is a nice tale and a suitable piece of historical fiction, which i am so keen on. j what every woman should know |

Ellise, I read this quite a while ago and came back to it, as I love this type of romance story, but then looked and didn’t see my comment on it. I’m not sure why I never left one, as I really enjoyed this story at the time, but will leave one for you, as this is a book deserving of attention. I liked the emphasis you had on close ties within families and the feeling of sweetness in the marriages. Right away you established a romantic tension between Susannah and Hayden, but also a dark element with the threat of revenge in the shadows, and in the ghost at the castle. Hayden’s proposal to Susannah was beautiful. I loved the Proverbs 31 references. There was so much romance in your words and also throughout your story. I think this was well written and definitely one I think could be published. There is a large audience for this type of story. Highest stars! Kara A Gate Called Beautiful ELAdams This isn't my usual genre but the intriguing title caught my attention. This is extremely well-written, polished prose, with a strong sense of setting and great characterisation. We gain a strong impression of Pembrooke's feelings through the use of internal monologue. Tone and dialogue are convincing to the time period in which your book is set, and you make good use of visual description. There's plenty of tension and suspense within the first chapter to keep the reader interested, and I enjoyed reading it. You're clearly a talented author, and this book deserves to do very well. Highly starred, and best of luck with this! Emma, 'The Puppet Spell' JamesRevoir Hello Ellise: Congratulations on the Governess reaching the ED. I read the first couple chapters of The Pirate Bride and your rich, descriptive writing style especially shines through in the passionate prologue. Although this is not my normal genre, it is clear that you have a tremendous gift as a novelist. All the best and blessings to you. James Shelby Z. Beautifully written! Just like the Governess. It has a romantic flow even from the beginning. The depth of sacrifice is very evident. The plot is thick from the opener. I love the cover and most of all I LOVE THE title. I know I will enjoy reading more of this. Shelby Z./Driving Winds |
